Access Request Process
Definition
Access Request Process is the structured set of steps through which a subject (such as a user, service account, or application) requests, is reviewed for, and is granted or denied access rights to systems, data, or functions. It typically covers initiation of a request, validation against access policies and segregation-of-duties rules, approval by designated authorities, and fulfillment and recording of the resulting access changes. In enterprise IAM/IGA, the access request process is formalized and auditable to support least privilege, compliance, and lifecycle management of entitlements.
